Due to the corrosive nature of sulfuric acid used in vehicle batteries and the fact that it can cause severe burns to the skin or eyes, so whenever handling, charging, or changing batteries, it is important to always wear the following PPE:
- Safety Goggles-Always wear safety goggles to protect the eyes when handling, changing or charging vehicle batteries,
- Face Shield-Always wear a safety shield to protect the face and neck skin from burns and battery case fragments in the event of an explosion,
- Rubber Gloves-Always wear rubber gloves to provide protection against battery acid and electrical resistance to prevent shocks,
- Rubber (chemical resistant) Apron– Wear a rubber apron to prevent chemical burns to skin.
